Oracle8i on CentOS 5.2
Hello
To know what OS is certified with which product we use Oracle certification matrix. The OS CentOS is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. I verified from metalink as it's showing result below:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS/ES 2.1 8.1.7 (8i)
It means only CentOS 2.1 is certified with 8i. BTW I successfully installed database 10gr2 over CentOS 4.3 that's certified with RHEL4.
The only databse certified with RHEL/CentOS 5 is Database 11gR1.
Hope that'll help you to understand certification matrix.
