Hi all,

We have a requirement to change the segment value ranges...
Like we have asset a/c's segment value ranges from the 1100 to 1199
Liability a/c's from 1200 to 1299 expense a/c's from 1300-1399 etc..

Now we want to chage the Asset ranges from 11100 to 11999 and Liabity a/c's from 21100 to 21999 etc...

>> How do we manage this in GL.

>> I need to know what is the impact in the submodules particulary in Accounts Payables.

This requirement is in 11.5.10.2

Please provide your valuble inputs..

Hi,

It is possible to change the value of the existing valueset in some cases. But we need to re-create the accounting code combinations also. If the accounting flexfield is in use, changing the values will cause data inconsistencies. You will need to test the results thoroughly. If you defined FSG, revaluation, recurring journals, mass allocation, concolidation and any other functionalities with these code combinations; you need to change every where which will cause data discrepancies.

Think, Analyse, and Test before doing changes to existing AFF/Segments/Values.
