I have a requirement where there are two operating units and the items for one operating unit should not be displaed by another operating unit. There are also comon item for both operating units so we cannot use two item masters. Can anyone help me in this setup?

You define 2 inventory org INV1 and INV2.

Then when you define an item you specify to which inventory org it should belong to INV1 or INV2 or both.

You should ideally have only 1 item master and then create all items under that. Then assign those items to different Inventory org as per your business needs.
