Dear All
I am a consultant working in Kuwait. I have more than 7 years of experience in Software development and Business/System Analysis. I want to make a career change and start working in ERP systems. I do not have any prior experience in ERP systems implementation or use. This is creating a problem in making this career change as most of the jobs require experience in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle Financials etc.) .

I want to work on my own and get myself prepared in this area. I would appreciate if I could get some guidance from this forum in what will be the most effective transition path.

Let me share some points that you should consider, I feel it is key to starting your path.

1> What role you want take up. Functional,Technical or Techno/Functional - very important.
2> What area of Business process you are familiar or experienced
ex. Financials, Distribution etc., it helps a great deal in the learning process

If you want to know Functional Responsibilities look in this section.

All Coding data related - techie job.

Great Functional materials available here - Check Tutorials

How did you start your career (software development) - same thing nothing new, get trained experience is following you.

More later

Make your choice from the list above. Begin.
You have tons and tons of experience - how?
As a software developer - the logic that's what is wanted you have it - Go for it, don't forget pick your subject and your role - thats it.
