Dear Members,
I want to set up Fixed Assets on Vision Instance.
When I want to define my own Flexfields and System Controls Iam unable to do that.
Because they are already defined and freezed.
I have created a new business group but still Iam unable to define my own Asset Category,Location and Key Flexfields.
Iam also unable to define System Controls.
Can anyone help me in solving this problem.
Regards,
Arun Reddy

Hi Arun,
Generally those FF are defined once for instance. It is not possible to define at this point means in the middle.
FA wont support Multi Org Sys.

Hi Manmohan,
Thanks a lot for your prompt reply.
Is there any work around or we need to use the existing freezed flex fields only?

Hi,
For this u can define ur own value set and segments like Major and Minor and attach the defined value set to the defined segments. U can able to use ur own segment values.

Hi,
In the FA application there are 3 key flexfields - Category,Location and Key Flexfield. The structure names are predefined when the application is installed for the first time. When FA is implemented, users need to unfreeze the flexfied and add the requisite number of segments. Once done those structures will be applicable to the entire FA application irrespective of the associate GL structure. once the initial structures have got segments in place no future modifications are to be done since it will corrupt the data. This is true for any key flexfied in any application. Unlike GL , we cannot have many strucutres for any of the key flexfields in FA.
Thanks
