Renaming the Host Name

Dear All,

Can anyone say me, how to rename the host name...

for ex:

I have two instances Production and test instance

Test instance is the copy of the production instance and both has the Host name as http://anu.anuerphome.com:8000 where as the slight difference is only with the ip address

ex.

182.186.1.129
182.186.13.129

where the first IP is for Test instance and the second IP is for the Production Instance and both has the host name as http://anu.anuerphome.com:8000

I want to rename the host name so as there will not be any confusion to work in the Test environment and also in production environment

I hope to get some solution and documents to rename the host name
Version is 11.5.10 and OS is AIX

Go to note 341322.1 it will help you. Through this you can easily change the name of host file in application Tier.

It's actually very easy to change the host name. I am actually going to implement in a day or 2 and than will let you know the whole procedure.

Hi all,

thanks a lot for all your posts. I hope this will be useful to many users. I asked this question to help my DBA and to find an easy way. He has started doing the work.
